Lake Roosevelt Forum

On behalf of the Fish and Wildlife Department of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, Environment International Principal Whitney Fraser presented her poster entitled “Evaluating regional metal deposition from a smelter” at the Lake Roosevelt Forum 2012 Conference, held April 16-17 at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane, WA. The theme of the 2012 conference was “Research into Action” and Ms. Fraser’s poster, which was also presented at the 2011 Annual Meeting of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, presented data from several studies relating to air emissions from the Teck smelter in Trail, British Columbia, and potentially related impacts in the United States, such as elevated levels of metals found in sediments of Northeast Washington State lakes.
